Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer to develop cross‑platform features for Earthworks, focusing on cloud connectivity and data services. You will work within a large global framework to deliver high‑quality software meeting customer needs.

You will contribute to embedded Linux development in C++, and design modern web interfaces using TypeScript and Angular. The role requires onsite work five days a week and collaboration across international teams.

Qualifications

Hold a relevant tertiary qualification as listed.
Experience developing software in C++.
Experience building web applications with TypeScript, preferably Angular or other modern JS frameworks.
Experience working in a full engineering process with specification, development, automated testing, continuous delivery and documentation.

Responsibilities

Development and evolution of Earthworks system with focus on cloud connectivity and data services.
Collaborate with team members on development scope, architecture and testing.
Work with domain experts and software developers across international sites to deliver customer value.
Develop on embedded Linux using C++ and build applications with Angular/Typescript.
Contribute to a distributed system and consider micro frontends and module federation.
Demonstrate fundamental software engineering skills to improve predictability and quality.
