Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT)

The CTCT division is a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar. We develop positioning and control products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GPS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between leadership and technical execution, directly guiding the development of software that controls heavy machinery like dozers and excavators. You will be at the forefront of combining embedded Linux and web technologies, making a tangible impact on global construction efficiency while nurturing the next generation of engineering talent.

Key Exciting Responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop a team of software engineers and testers through goal setting, career planning, and performance management.
  • Provide technical leadership and remove blockers to facilitate the development of embedded Linux and web-based applications using C++, Angular, and TypeScript.
  • Drive continuous improvements in software development processes by collaborating across geographically dispersed CTCT sites.
  • Prioritize and allocate tasks effectively to ensure efficient delivery of software features for earthmoving and paving solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Solid professional experience as a Software Engineer at a Senior or Lead level.
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Web Development technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading and owning projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing projects within fast-paced environments, ideally across multiple time zones.

  • Prior experience working with globally dispersed engineering teams.
