Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in New Zealand seeks a Software Engineering Intern for the CTCT division to help develop Grade Control and Automation software.

You will work on an embedded C++ platform with Android and Angular interfaces, collaborating with a forward-thinking team on real-world applications. Qualifications

  • Pursuing a relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, mathematics, mechatronics, or equivalent.
  • OOP experience (Java/C++) and interpreted languages (Python).
  • Experience implementing common software design patterns.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Agile, positive, and methodical.
  • Enjoy working with a highly collaborative team.
  • High attention to detail with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Seek opportunities to utilise technical knowledge and abilities.
  • Take ownership of individual assignments.
  • Enjoy working with new and emerging technology.

Responsibilities

  • Be involved in the development cycles of software.
  • Complete component and systems testing.
  • Reporting of issues.
  • Highlight areas of improvement.
  • Understanding customer needs and workflows, and providing feedback to the team.
  • Any other duties directed by Management as and when required.
