Job summary

Rightmove Recruitment is seeking skilled labourers and experienced coating specialists for our client in New Zealand, with Auckland assignments and expansion across the country.

These hands-on roles involve applying epoxy, coatings, flooring and waterproofing in industrial settings, with travel possible and accommodation provided when working away from home.

Qualifications

• Experience in coatings, painting, flooring, concrete or construction work.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools to apply coatings.
• Compliance with safety procedures and site rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concrete, steel and other surfaces for coating.
• Grind, sand, clean and remove existing coatings.
• Mix and apply epoxy, polyurethane and resin coatings.
• Install industrial flooring systems (non-slip, food-grade).
• Apply coatings using rollers, brushes, squeegees or spray gear.
• Waterproofing, tanking and liquid-membrane work.
• Concrete crack repairs, patching and resurfacing.
• Apply intumescent and cementitious fire-protection coatings.
• Complete safety lines, markings and sports-surface tasks.
• Set up and clean work areas, tools and equipment.
• Follow product specs, methods and curing requirements.
• Adhere to health, safety and quality procedures.

Rightmove Recruitment is seeking Skilled Labourers and experienced Coating Specialists for our client, a well-established New Zealand company specialising in industrial coatings, flooring, waterproofing, concrete repairs and protective-coating solutions.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects, our client is looking for reliable workers to join its Auckland-based team.

These are hands-on roles offering varied work across Auckland and other parts of New Zealand. The ability to travel and work away from home is preferred.

When travelling for projects, accommodation will be provided and a working-away-from-home allowance will be paid.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing concrete, steel and other surfaces for coating
• Concrete grinding, sanding, cleaning and removing existing coatings
• Mixing and applying epoxy, polyurethane and resin coating systems
• Installing non-slip, food-grade and industrial flooring systems
• Applying coatings using rollers, brushes, squeegees or spray equipment
• Waterproofing, tanking and liquid-membrane application
• Concrete crack repairs, patching, levelling and resurfacing
• Applying intumescent and cementitious fire-protection coatings
• Completing safety line marking and sports-surface applications
• Setting up and cleaning work areas, tools and equipment
• Following product specifications, application methods and curing requirements
• Completing work in accordance with strict health and safety and quality procedures

What we’re looking for:

We are interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Industrial or protective coatings
• Epoxy or resin flooring
• Commercial or industrial painting
• Waterproofing and membrane installation
• Concrete grinding and surface preparation
• Concrete repairs and resurfacing
• Passive fire or intumescent coatings
• Spray painting or specialist coating application
• Construction labouring involving concrete, flooring or coatings

Experienced coating applicators are strongly encouraged to apply.

We will also consider reliable skilled labourers who have relevant construction/coatings experience, a strong work ethic and an interest in developing a career within the specialist coatings industry.

To be successful, you will need:

• Relevant coatings, painting, flooring, concrete or construction experience
• Confidence using hand tools and power tools
• Good physical fitness and the ability to complete practical, hands-on work
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality finishes
• The ability to follow instructions, technical specifications and safe work procedures
• A reliable, positive and team-focused attitude
• Reliable transport and the ability to report to different worksites
• The legal right to work in New Zealand
• The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required

A full New Zealand driver licence, Site Safe Passport, Working at Heights, EWP, Confined Space, First Aid or relevant BCITO qualification would be advantageous but is not essential for every position.
