Job summary

Blokhaus Recruitment is seeking a hardworking Labourer to join the Queenstown team. You will support skilled trades on high-end residential and commercial projects, keeping sites clean and on schedule.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a larger site crew. A valid driver’s license and transport are preferred to access multiple Queenstown sites and you will be paid weekly.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of construction site or physically demanding manual work experience.
• Able to perform heavy lifting and outdoor tasks throughout the day.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and capable of turning up on time.
• Capable of following detailed instructions within a large site crew.
• Own PPE: Hi Vis, Hard Hat, Steel Cap Boots, Gloves, Glasses, Site Safety card.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport to multiple Queenstown sites.

Responsibilities

• Site Preparation & Maintenance: clear debris, organize materials, keep workspace tidy and safe.
• Trade Support: assist carpenters, bricklayers and other tradespeople with lifting, tool handling and light assembly.
• Material Management: load/unload deliveries and move heavy materials across varied terrain.
• Equipment Operation: use basic power tools and machinery under supervision.
• Concrete & Foundations: assist with pours, boxing and site leveling.
• Safety Compliance: follow health and safety protocols, especially in alpine conditions.

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Labourer to join our team in Queenstown. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-end residential and commercial projects,providing essential support to skilled trades in a fast-paced construction environment. You will be a vital part of our site crew, ensuring projects stay on schedule and sites are maintained to a premium standard.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Site Preparation & Maintenance: Clearing debris, organizing materials, and ensuring a safe, tidy workspace at all times.
• Trade Support: Assisting carpenters, bricklayers, and other tradespeople with heavy lifting, tool handling, and basic assembly tasks.
• Material Management: Loading and unloading deliveries, and moving heavy construction materials safely across varied terrain.
• Equipment Operation: Using basic power tools and machinery (such as drills, grinders, or compactors) under supervision.
• Concrete & Foundations: Assisting with concrete pours, boxing, and site leveling.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to health and safety protocols, particularly in challenging alpine weather conditions.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Experience: At least 6–12 months of experience on a construction site or in a physically demanding manual role.
• Physical Fitness: Capability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks throughout the day in an outdoor environment.
• Reliability: A "turn-up-on-time" attitude and a strong work ethic—our team relies on you to keep the site moving.
• Communication: Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a large site crew.
• Safety Conscious: You should have your own PPE (Hi Vis, Hard Hat, Steel Cap Boots, Gloves, Glasses, Site Safety card)
• Logistics: A valid driver’s license and your own reliable transportation to get to various sites around Queenstown.
• Weekly pay.
• Competitive hourly rate ($28–$30 per hour depending on experience).
