Job summary

Pangolin Civil is seeking two experienced Site Foremen for our Auckland team in a permanent, full-time capacity. The role requires 5–6 days per week and 35 to 45 hours. Applicants must already be based in New Zealand.

You will oversee construction projects, ensuring plans and specifications are followed, managing resources, coordinating activities, and upholding high safety and quality standards across commercial and residential works.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction or civil sector or NZQF Level degree.
• Solid knowledge of NZ health and safety requirements.
• Ability to multitask across several projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preference for candidates with First Aid Level 2 certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assess architectural drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate resources, procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment.
• Liaise with Architects and Engineering Professionals.
• Oversee project time, cost, quality, budget and risk.
• Negotiate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards.
• Submit plans to local authorities and coordinate inspections.
• Develop and manage project plans to align with goals.

Job description

We are seeking two experienced Site Foremen to join our Auckland team in a permanent, full-time position. The role requires a commitment of 5-6 days per week, with a work schedule of 35 to 45 hours. Due to the urgent nature of this recruitment, we are only considering applicants who are currently based in New Zealand.

What is your role

In this role, you will oversee construction projects, ensuring they adhere to plans and specifications while managing resources, coordinating activities, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Your contributions will be key to the successful completion of both commercial and residential projects.

What you will do

• Assessing and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications;
• Coordinating resources, procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment;
• Consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals and other professionals;
• Managing links between projects and monitoring overall time, costs, quality, budget and risk;
• Negotiating with stakeholders throughout the construction process and project lifecycle;
• Managing and monitoring adherence to legislation and standards of performance and safety;
• Managing submission of plans to local authorities and liaising with stakeholders to undertake relevant inspections throughout the project;
• Establishing and managing project plans to ensure alignment with program strategic goals and project outcomes.

What you will bring

• A minimum of 2 years of work experience in the construction or civil sector, or a relevant bachelor's degree at NZQF Level
• Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of NZ healty and safety
• Calm, professional temperament and a good work ethic
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
• Ability to build strong relationships
• The ability to multitask and work across several projects at once
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Take pride in every aspect of their work to produce the highest possible outcomes
• Candidates holding a L2 First Aid certificate will be given preference
