Job summary

Pangolin Civil in Auckland is seeking two experienced Site Foremen to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role requires a commitment of 5-6 days per week, with a 35 to 45 hour schedule, and applicants must be based in New Zealand.

You will oversee construction projects, interpret drawings, coordinate materials and plant, manage safety and quality, and liaise with architects and engineers to ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in construction or civil sectors or NZQF level degree.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety standards.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate clearly across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinating resources, procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment.
  • Consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals and other professionals.
  • Managing links between projects and monitoring overall time, costs, quality, budget and risk.
  • Negotiating with stakeholders throughout the construction process and project lifecycle.
  • Managing adherence to legislation and standards of performance and safety.
  • Submitting plans to local authorities and liaising with stakeholders for inspections.
  • Establishing and managing project plans to align with program goals.

We are seeking two experienced Site Foremen to join our Auckland team in a permanent, full-time position. The role requires a commitment of 5-6 days per week, with a work schedule of 35 to 45 hours. Due to the urgent nature of this recruitment, we are only considering applicants who are currently based in New Zealand.

What is your role

In this role, you will oversee construction projects, ensuring they adhere to plans and specifications while managing resources, coordinating activities, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Your contributions will be key to the successful completion of both commercial and residential projects.

What you will do

  • Assessing and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications;
  • Coordinating resources, procurement and delivery of materials, plant and equipment;
  • Consulting with Architects, Engineering Professionals and other professionals;
  • Managing links between projects and monitoring overall time, costs, quality, budget and risk;
  • Negotiating with stakeholders throughout the construction process and project lifecycle;
  • Managing and monitoring adherence to legislation and standards of performance and safety;
  • Managing submission of plans to local authorities and liaising with stakeholders to undertake relevant inspections throughout the project;
  • Establishing and managing project plans to ensure alignment with program strategic goals and project outcomes.

What you will bring

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in the construction or civil sector, or a relevant bachelor's degree at NZQF Level
  • Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of NZ healty and safety
  • Calm, professional temperament and a good work ethic
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • The ability to multitask and work across several projects at once
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Take pride in every aspect of their work to produce the highest possible outcomes
  • Candidates holding a L2 First Aid certificate will be given preference
