Job summary

Connell Contractors seeks a Site Engineer for South Island-based projects across New Zealand. You will provide technical leadership and engineering support to site teams, liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of civil infrastructure.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 5–10 years’ experience, and the ability to travel to project sites nationwide. This is a permanent position with a focus on technical excellence and project mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 5–10 years’ post-graduate experience in civil engineering within civil construction and infrastructure delivery.
• Strong technical design and calculation capability.

We need a South Island based Site Engineer who can provide engineering support to our Regional Manager, site teams and clients. A good communicator, who understand how sites operate and who can make sure the teams have the right information and resources when they need it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer based in the South Island, supporting projects across New Zealand. This role will provide technical leadership and engineering support to our operational teams while contributing to the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, design support, tender development, and mentoring site teams, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU

Reporting to the Regional Manager you will be able to hit the ground running and hold

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years’ post-graduate experience in civil engineering within civil construction and infrastructure delivery.
• Proven ability to manage or support the delivery of civil projects.
• Strong technical design and calculation capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites across New Zealand as required.
