Downer & Company is seeking a Site Engineer for their Te Anau team to support maintenance, renewals, and capital projects along one of New Zealand’s iconic transport corridors. You’ll contribute to planning, site delivery, and cost management while working with an experienced team of engineers and leaders.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in civil engineering required.
• 2+ years' experience in civil construction or roading environments.
• Experience in project delivery, site coordination or construction support.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• NZ Driver Licence and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating daily work to support site crews.
• Monitor site progress and track work against programme timelines.
• Participate in site inspections and help identify risks and improvements.
• Assist with cost tracking, job costing, and quantifying completed work.
• Support the preparation of progress claims and reporting.
• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and site crews.
• Gain exposure to site supervision, resource planning, and contract delivery.
• Promote safe work practices and personal accountability on site.
