Job summary

Cassidy Construction in Auckland, North Island, is seeking a Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of our construction projects. You’ll provide technical on-site support and help ensure work is safe, efficient, and up to standard, collaborating closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients, and consultants.

The role covers planning, coordination, quality assurance, documentation, and cost control, with responsibilities from interpreting drawings to monitoring workmanship.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer, ideally delivering structural, water/wastewater, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, standards, and regulations.
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety and quality management systems.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved on site.
  • The ability to work autonomously, learn quickly, and stay ahead of project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support and engineering advice to site teams
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Assisting with site planning, programming, subcontractor coordination, material procurement and temporary works
  • Monitoring workmanship, subcontractor performance, and material quality
  • Supporting quality assurance processes, including inspections, ITPs, RFIs, and compliance documentation
  • Maintaining accurate site records, drawings, reports, and technical documentation
  • Assisting with on site project cost control
  • Supporting the implementation of health, safety, environmental, and quality management plans

The Role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our construction projects. You’ll provide technical support on‑site and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This is a hands‑on role that will see you working closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients, and consultants. You'll be involved in everything from planning and coordination through to technical support, quality assurance, documentation, and cost control.
