Job summary

Carpet Court NZ in Pukekohe is seeking a Sales Assistant to support our Sales Consultants and welcome customers from the moment they walk in. This role combines customer service, sales support and administration in a busy retail environment.

The 6-month fixed-term, part-time position runs Monday to Friday 9:00am–2:30pm (with some flexibility). Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred, along with strong communication, organisation and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience.
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Confidence using computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and create a positive first impression.
• Support customers with product enquiries and selections.
• Assist Sales Consultants throughout the sales process.
• Process sales transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with quotations, product ordering and customer follow-up.
• Book measures and support customer appointments.
• Answer phone enquiries and manage customer communications.
• Maintain showroom presentation and merchandising standards.
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory-related activities.
• Support promotional campaigns and store initiatives.
• Ensure administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
