Job summary

Holcim New Zealand seeks a ship unloader for a casual ongoing role at our terminal near the Ports of Auckland. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient unloading of bulk cement and cementitious products from vessels using specialised equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental compliance.

You will join a hands-on, collaborative terminal team, maintaining relationships with subcontractors and shipping personnel, while supporting continuous improvement and upholding

Qualifications

• Full car license required.
• Forklift experience required.
• Trade or Degree qualification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Intermediate computer literacy.
• SAP ERP experience highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Unload bulk cement and cementitious products from vessels using specialised equipment.
• Ensure unloading operations are conducted safely, efficiently and environmentally compliant.
• Oversee ship unloading operations and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, shipping personnel and internal teams.
• Contribute to Holcim's strategy to deliver New Zealand's best supply chain distribution network for bulk and packaged cementitious products.

About the opportunity

This role is a casual ongoing position and depends on ships coming in for unloading at our terminal near the Ports of Auckland. As a ship unloader you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant unloading of bulk cement and cementitious products from the vessels using specialised equipment. This role requires technical knowledge, physical capability and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards. In addition to overseeing ship unloading operations, the ship unloader operator supports continuous improvement by maintaining strong working relationships with subcontractors, shipping personnel and internal teams. The role is integral to Holcim's strategic intent of delivering and operating New Zealand's best supply chain distribution network for bulk and packaged cementitious products.

About you

Safety: Actively lead and foster a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental legislation while supporting Holcim's SHE policies. Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, customers, and stakeholders to support safe and efficient terminal operations.
