Job summary

FIRST Security in Wellington is seeking a capable Shift Supervisor to lead Field Service Officers and Static guards on a four-days-on, four-days-off roster. This full-time role involves fieldwork, incidents response across Wellington, and ensuring alarms and installations operate safely and effectively.

You will manage a team, coordinate patrols, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols while providing training and development opportunities within the business.

Qualifications

• Excellent people skills and ability to build relationships.
• Excellent listening skills and ability to think, solve problems and decide quickly in challenging environments.
• Ability to handle stress and pressure.
• Physical fitness to perform field work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• COA license (or ability to obtain one) with NZ Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice criminal convictions check.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and motivate your team of field officers and guards.
• Maintain and service ATMs.
• Monitor ADT medical alarms and electronic monitoring equipment.
• Ensure installations and callouts are completed and equipment operates correctly.
• Attend courts, prisons and residential sites for installations and callouts.
• Coordinate patrols and general field-service activities.
• Make sound decisions in high-pressure situations and ensure safety procedures.

About the role

We’re looking for a capable and people-focused Field Service Shift Supervisor to join our Wellington team in a permanent, full-time position.

You’ll lead a team of Electronic Monitoring Field Officers and Static guards, ensuring they have the skills, tools and support needed to succeed. This is a varied, fast-paced role involving fieldwork, team leadership and responding to incidents across the Wellington region.

The role operates on a four-days-on, four-days-off roster, consisting of two day shifts followed by two night shifts.

Duties

• Leading, supporting and motivating your team
• Maintaining and servicing ATMs
• Monitoring ADT medical alarms
• Ensuring electronic monitoring equipment is correctly installed and operating effectively
• Attending courts, prisons and residential locations to complete installations and callouts
• Monitoring client properties and responding to alarm activations
• Coordinating patrols and general field-service callouts
• Making sound decisions in challenging or high-pressure situations
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
