Job summary

ExtraStaff seeks experienced Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers for an immediate start in a nightshift role across Canterbury. You will move aggregate and quarry materials between quarries and customer sites, requiring strong truck and trailer handling in busy environments.

Must have a Full Class 5 license and proven truck/trailer experience; road ranger gearboxes and reversing skills are highly valued. PPE is provided where required, with ongoing opportunities and support from ExtraStaff.

Qualifications

About the Role

ExtraStaff are seeking experienced Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers for an immediate start, ongoing role with a leading Christchurch-based employer. This is a nightshift position operating between quarries and customer sites, transporting aggregate and quarry materials across Canterbury. We're looking for confident, safety-focused drivers with strong truck and trailer experience who are comfortable operating in busy quarry and construction environments.

What We're Looking For

• Full Class 5 License
• Proven Truck & Trailer experience
• Experience operating Road Ranger gearboxes
• Ability to jackknife trailers confidently
• Strong reversing skills, including maneuvering into tight spaces
• Experience carting aggregate, quarry materials, or bulk products preferred
• Reliable transport and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and follow site procedures
• Commitment to workplace health and safety

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Physically fit and capable of working long shifts
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
• Previous heavy transport experience essentialAbility to work ongoing nightshift hours
