Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver for busy civil construction projects across Masterton. If you can operate truck and trailer combinations, understand earthworks and infrastructure sites, and are happy to roll up your sleeves, this role suits you.

Immediate start with a pay rate of $35.00 per hour, paid weekly. You’ll drive, load, and assist on site with earthworks and drainage, joining a skilled crew committed to safety and steady work.

Qualifications

• Full, clean Class 5 NZ driver’s licence with proven truck and trailer experience.
• Confident reversing and operating heavy vehicle combinations safely.
• Experience operating tipper trucks on civil sites preferred.
• Civil construction, earthworks or infrastructure experience beneficial.
• Physically fit and willing to do hands-on labouring.
• Reliable transport and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Strong safety awareness and a team-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 5 truck and trailer on civil projects.
• Cart bulk aggregates, gravel, spoil and construction materials.
• Coupling/uncoupling, manoeuvring and reversing heavy units.
• Operate tipper trucks and trailers where required.
• Vehicle checks and load/secure/tip materials.
• Support earthworks and drainage crews with site prep.
• Assist with digging and civil labouring on site.

We're on the hunt for an experienced Class 5 Driver to get stuck into busy civil construction projects across Masterton. If you're confident operating truck and trailer combinations, know your way around earthworks and infrastructure sites, and aren't afraid to jump out of the cab and get your hands dirty, we've got an opportunity for you! We're after a physically fit, agile driver who's just as comfortable lending a hand on site as they are behind the wheel.

Location: Masterton, Wairarapa

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $35.00 per hour, paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Operating Class 5 truck and trailer combinations on civil projects
• Carting bulk aggregates, gravel, spoil and construction materials
• Safely coupling, uncoupling, manoeuvring and reversing truck and trailer units
• Operating tipper truck and trailer combinations where required
• Completing vehicle checks and safely loading, securing and tipping materials
• Supporting earthworks and drainage crews with site preparation and groundwork
• Jumping out of the cab to assist with digging, shovelling and general civil labouring

What we're looking for
