Job summary

Burger King NZ is seeking a Shift Manager in the Gisborne region. This is a permanent, full-time role with 40 hours per week, including night and weekend shifts. You will supervise a small team, ensure food safety and quality, and help promote profitability.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of team management experience in fast food, strong communication skills, and experience onboarding staff. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment focused on great customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of team management experience in Fast Food or similar.
• Exceptional communication with ability to foster a positive culture.
• Experience onboarding and training staff.
• Ability to unpack stock deliveries and perform heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on leadership of a small team of fast food workers.
• Supervise and coach team to ensure breaks and performance.
• Ensure food safety, quality and customer service standards.
• Resolve issues such as kitchen machinery repairs.
• Maintain Health and Safety for all employees.
• Promote profitability by managing costs and maximizing sales opportunities.

Weare on the hunt for a couple of Shift Managers at our BK Restaurants in the Gisborne Region.

You must be able to work some night and weekend shifts!

Asa Shift Manager, you are responsible for:

• Thisis a hands-on position, you will also work to make and serve: big, bold,deliciousness (great burgers) to everyone.
• Supervisea small team of Fast Food workers (Cooks & Kitchen Hands) and support themto be successful by coaching, ensuring breaks are taken etc.
• Ensurethat all operational standards are met, including food safety, quality andcustomer measures.
• Problemsolve should issues arise and escal… e.g. if kitchenmachinery require repairing.
• Ensurethe Health & Safety of all employees.
• Assistswith Promoting Restaurant Profitability e.g. focus on costs and maximisingcustomer opportunities.

Whatwe offer you:

• Permanentemployment
• Salary: $59-62K gross per annum, depending on skills and experience.
• Guaranteedhours of 40 hours per week to be worked over any 5 days of the week, Monday toSunday.
• Hoursand days of work will depending on the rostered shifts you are assigned.
• Additionalhours, if agreed, are also paid (hours over 80 per fortnight)

Requirements:

• At least 1 years team management experience and overseeing the duties of Team Members in Fast Food or similar food, Hospitality or Retail environment.
• Exceptionalcommunication skills with the ability to create a positive culture and workingenvironment.
• Experience on how to on-board new employees and with staff training and motivation (advantage).
• Unpacking stock deliveries and inventory (involves heavy lifting).
