Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a Shift Engineer for the Meadow Fresh dairy site in Christchurch. You will provide high-quality maintenance across the plant, focusing on improving operational effectiveness and reliability.

The role involves a rotating 2 days, 2 nights on / 4 off schedule, with responsibilities spanning planned and unplanned maintenance, equipment repairs, and ensuring GMP and safety standards are upheld.

Qualifications

Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine/Welding.
GMP and food safety understanding.
Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions.
HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding.
Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable).
Experienced fitter (Conveyor belts, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics).

Responsibilities

Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activities.
Attend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdowns.
Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to optimum performance.
Perform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairs.
Maintain site engineering documentation and plant logs with up-to-date information.
Drive factory quality and SHE standards for safety improvements.
Assist in preparing site for external and regulatory audits.
