Job summary

AB Equipment in North Harbour, New Zealand is seeking a skilled Diesel Heavy Plant Mechanic. You will work autonomously in the field or in our well-equipped workshop, fault-finding and repairing hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems while delivering excellent customer service.

Trade qualification in Diesel or Heavy Plant is required, with relevant field experience. A full driver's licence is essential; endorsements are preferred but not required.

Are you a skilled Diesel Mechanic with a passion for machinery and problem solving? Looking for a rewarding career where you'll be valued and supported? look no further!

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. You will be working autonomously in the field or in our well-equipped workshop. Organisational skills are a must in this role, and you will understand the value of providing exceptional customer service.

What you will need to succeed

• Trade qualified in Diesel / Heavy Plant or equivalent, with relevant experience.
• Able to work independently in the field and confidently fault-find and repair hydraulic, mechanical and electrical issues.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Full driver's licence required; F, W, T and R endorsements preferred but not essential.
• Safety-conscious team player with a positive can-do attitude, willingness to learn new equipment, basic Windows 365 skills and availability for the call-out roster.
