TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Service Technician for field-based work across New Zealand, including Waikato. You will install, commission, service, and repair environmental monitoring equipment at client sites, and manage data collection sites with a focus on accuracy and safety.
The role requires travel, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer communication. A trade qualification in electrical/electronic fields is strongly preferred, with a proactive, Kiwi-first work

This is a field-based technical role with a company that installs, services, and maintains high quality scientific and industrial instrumentation. Think environmental monitoring, geothermal, climate, atmosphere, hydrology, building, structural, geotechnical and similar systems – work that actually matters to science and the environment.
You’ll be on the road regularly – this is genuine field work across New Zealand. Away up to two weeks out of every four, with flexible arrangements around time in the office. Background and qualifications are flexible – what matters most is your attitude and aptitude. Trade qualified candidates have done very well in this team. Think electricians, electronics technicians, or anyone who has spent time servicing equipment in the field. Backgrounds in farming, medical equipment servicing, avionics, commercial AV, or similar technical service roles can be a strong fit.
You’ll need:
Nice to have but not essential: a trade or technical qualification in an electrical, electronic, or applied science field (EST or EAS registration is advantageous).
