Job summary

NZ Pump & Energy Limited is seeking a Field Technician to visit customer sites across Auckland, delivering, setting up and commissioning pumps and power equipment. You will work with our operations team to ensure safe, reliable service and assist with breakdowns as rostered.

The role offers part-time hours (approximately 10–20 per week) with potential for more during busy periods, including evenings and weekends. A full NZ driver licence, physical fitness, and a can-do attitude are essential.

Qualifications

  • 10–20 hours per week, with additional hours during busy periods.
  • Full NZ driver licence required.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering, setting up and commissioning pumps, generators and associated equipment.
  • Carrying out routine site inspections and equipment checks.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reporting any issues.
  • Packing down, cleaning and preparing equipment for the next hire.
  • Assisting with emergency breakdowns and after-hours callouts when rostered.
  • Providing excellent customer service while working safely on customer sites.

Job description

As a Field Technician, you'll be responsible for visiting customer sites to deliver, set up, inspect, monitor, service and retrieve pumping and power equipment. You'll work closely with our operations team to ensure our customers receive safe, reliable and professional service.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering, setting up and commissioning pumps, generators and associated equipment
  • Carrying out routine site inspections and equipment checks
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reporting any issues
  • Packing down, cleaning and preparing equipment for the next hire
  • Assisting with emergency breakdowns and after-hours callouts when rostered
  • Providing excellent customer service while working safely on customer sites
About you
  • Approximately 10-20 hours per week, with additional hours available during busy periods
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and participate in an on-call roster
  • A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in a variety of conditions
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is desirable but not essential
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand
