Job summary

Foleys invites a qualified Service Electrician to join our nationwide team, delivering service, maintenance and fault-finding across residential, commercial and industrial sites.

You will work on-site, travelling to customer locations, diagnose faults, perform repairs, complete certifications and keep accurate job records using our management system. NZ Electrical Registration and a valid driver licence are essential, with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with NZ registration and practising licence.
• Recognised electrical trade qualification.
• Experience in electrical service and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls, breakdowns and maintenance requests.
• Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs safely.
• Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance and minor installations.
• Preparing quotations for small works and clearly communicating solutions to customers.
• Completing testing, commissioning and all required electrical certification.
• Recording labour, materials and job information in the system.

Foleys is looking for an experienced Service Electrician to join our team. This is a hands‑on role where every day is different. You’ll work across residential, commercial and industrial sites, providing service, maintenance, fault‑finding and repair solutions while building strong relationships with our customers.

About the Role

As a Service Electrician, you’ll be responsible for:

• Responding to service calls, breakdowns and maintenance requests.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely.
• Carrying out servicing, preventative maintenance and minor installation works.
• Preparing quotations for small works and clearly communicating solutions to customers.
• Completing testing, commissioning and all required electrical certification.
• Recording labour, materials and job information accurately using our job management systems.
• Maintaining your service vehicle, tools and testing equipment to a high standard.
• Identifying opportunities for additional work and providing exceptional customer service on every job.
• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, electrical standards and Foleys procedures.
• Working collaboratively with customers, colleagues and other trades to deliver the best outcome.

About You

You’ll be a practical, solutions-focused Electrician who takes pride in your work and enjoys the variety that comes with service work.

You’ll bring:

• New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence.
• A recognised electrical trade qualification.
• Previous experience in electrical service and maintenance is preferred.
• Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
• Confidence using mobile technology and job management software.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver licence – manual preferred.
• A strong commitment to health, safety and quality workmanship.
• A professional and customer‑focused approach.
