Job summary

Esteem Electrical in Auckland seeks a Registered Electrician or 4th year apprentice to join a busy team handling residential and commercial projects.

You will install, maintain and test electrical systems, read plans, comply with NZ regulations, and work with data cabling and heat pump installations.

Qualifications

• Registered Electrician or 4th year apprentice with NZ practicing license.
• Experience across general electrical work and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Comfort with residential and commercial electrical projects and heat pump work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out residential and commercial electrical installations.
• Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs.
• Complete rewiring projects and test/install data cabling.
• Read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with NZ electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Test, inspect, and commission electrical installations.
• Support heat pump installations where applicable.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out residential and commercial electrical installations
• Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
• Complete full and partial rewiring projects
• Install electrical systems for new builds, renovations, refurbishments, and fit-outs
• Install and test data cabling and structured wiring systems
• Read and interpret electrical plans and specifications
• Ensure all work complies with New Zealand electrical regulations and safety standards
• Test, inspect, and commission electrical installations
• Install, service, and assist with heat pump installations for residential and commercial properties
• Fault finding and general electrical work

About you

• Registered Electrician / 4th year apprentice
• NZ Registered with a current practicing license (preferred)
• Experience across general electrical work
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience installing and servicing heat pumps (optional)
• Good understanding of HVAC systems (optional)
