Job summary

Auckland Radiology Group in Auckland is seeking a Senior Sonographer to join our Waitakere-based team. This role blends clinical ultrasound expertise with leadership, mentoring colleagues and collaborating with radiologists and clinicians to deliver outstanding patient care.

You will lead ultrasound services across a broad range of presentations, uphold high standards, and contribute to quality improvement while enjoying a supportive culture, competitive remuneration, and continuing professional

Qualifications

• Current registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTBNZ) is required.
• A valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) is mandatory for practice.
• Experience delivering ultrasound examinations and supervising colleagues is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality ultrasound examinations across a broad range of clinical presentations.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to colleagues within the sonography team.
• Build strong working relationships with radiologists, referrers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through compassionate and professional care.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and best-practice clinical standards.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous development.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Sonographer who is passionate about patient care and enjoys supporting the development of others.

You will bring:

• Current registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
• Strong clinical ultrasound experience and a commitment to excellence
• The ability to work confidently both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient-focused approach and genuine empathy for those in your care
• Sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• A flexible, positive, and collaborative attitude
• A strong understanding of patient privacy, confidentiality, and professional ethics
