Job summary

ACC New Zealand is recruiting a Senior Solicitor in the Scheme & Corporate team to translate complex legal issues into practical guidance for ACC's operations. You will collaborate with the Legal, Privacy & Ethics function to support diverse business groups across the ACC Scheme and Corporation.

Qualifications

• Significant public law experience providing clear, practical legal advice.
• Experience leading specialist legal advice on statutory schemes and Crown entity powers.
• Strategic thinking with strong judgement and issue focus.
• Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including briefing senior leaders.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or peer review to support quality legal services.
• Ability to work with technical experts in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and applying it in policy settings would be an advantage.
• Initiative, self-motivation and ability to manage competing priorities.
• You must hold NZ work rights at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Translate challenging legal issues into clear, practical advice for ACC business groups.
• Advise on the legislative and regulatory framework for the ACC Scheme and Corporation.
• Lead and influence specialist advice across the Legal, Privacy & Ethics function.
• Support operations to ensure lawful and effective decision-making.
• Provide guidance on Crown entity obligations and information-sharing laws.
