Job summary

Seequent Limited in Christchurch seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Technical Computing team, focusing on cloud-capable geoscience computing algorithms and high-performance CPU/GPU optimisation.

You will design, develop, and maintain shared frameworks for cloud workloads, and help transition existing desktop algorithms into scalable cloud-native solutions while collaborating with geotech, geophysics and geostatistics teams to deliver compute capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and developing scalable, testable code for products.
• Strong knowledge of clean architectures and design principles.
• Experience with parallel computing or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and GPU programming desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain frameworks for geoscience compute workloads in the cloud.
• Transition desktop algorithms to scalable cloud-native solutions.
• Collaborate with geotech, geophysics, and geostatistics teams to deliver compute capabilities.
• Lead code reviews and promote performance-focused development.
• Develop and optimise computational algorithms for performance and scalability.
