Job summary

Seequent in Christchurch is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with cloud compute service experience for our next‑gen cloud geodata platform. You will join a talented team working on cutting‑edge cloud technologies and help drive innovation across Seequent Evo and BlockSync.

Based in our Christchurch office with hybrid flexibility, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to scalable Python APIs built with FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Proficiency with Python and FastAPI is desirable.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitHub Actions is advantageous.
• Knowledge of concurrency, parallelism, and modern API development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated software applications, components, and modules that push the boundaries of technology.
• Create models, simulations, and prototypes of software behaviour for stakeholder approval and verification.
• Code, test, document, and refine complex programs, scripts, and integration services.
• Participate in code reviews, pair-programming, and automation activities.
• Collaborate closely with other development and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.
• Drive technical discussions and advocate for continuous improvement and innovation.
