Job summary

Seequent, a leader in geoscience data platforms, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to spearhead Gen AI capabilities for the Evo platform. Based in Christchurch, you will mentor teams, design scalable AI-driven solutions, and influence how Gen AI is deployed across services.

You will architect complex software, work with cross-functional teams, and drive releases while ensuring security and quality. This role involves hiring and growing the team as we expand globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in software engineering, with at least 1 year building and operating Gen AI products using LLMs in production.
• Deep knowledge of RAG systems, semantic search, vector databases, and optimizing knowledge retrieval for production.
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks like Model Context Protocol (MCP) or Agent2Agent (A2A) protocols.
• Strong experience in cloud development, containerized systems (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and building FastAPI services.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop complex software applications, components, and integration services.
• Research and implement advanced Gen AI frameworks (RAG, semantic search, vector databases).
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases across teams and ensure quality and security standards.
• Manage small projects or sub-projects with realistic plans and risk management.
• Mentor teams, lead design and code reviews to ensure robust software construction.
