Job summary

Seequent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Leapfrog, its leading 3D geological modelling software, on a fixed-term contract running until July 2027. You will develop and maintain core modules, integrate features into a desktop app, and uphold testing and quality standards.

The role emphasizes mentoring, collaboration with a cross-functional team, and driving engineering excellence, with a focus on scalable, maintainable solutions and strong customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with desktop application development.
• Strong hands-on Python production experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a cross-functional team.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience mentoring others and driving good engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain core modules and shared libraries.
• Integrate new functionality into Leapfrog desktop application.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and performance.
• Experiment with new approaches to improve product quality and performance.
• Support and implement engineering best practices across the team.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to high standards of code quality.
• Drive technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Mentor other engineers and support their technical growth.
• Participate in project planning and delivery, including estimation and prioritisation.
