Job summary

Seequent in Christchurch, New Zealand, is seeking a Software Engineer II who will independently apply their skills and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software for our customers.

You will design, code, test, and document moderately complex programs, help shape components of larger systems, and begin mentoring junior developers while upholding security and DevOps practices. Office-based role with three days on-site per week at our Christchurch office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 4+ years in software engineering roles.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Ability to work with general direction and meet deadlines.
• Engage with colleagues, customers and partners, understanding user needs.

Responsibilities

• Undertake complete design of moderately complex software applications or components.
• Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor programs.
• Support releases, monitor progress, and propose practical solutions.
• Collaborate in reviews and assist in evaluating options and trade-offs.
• Contribute to testing and quality assurance activities to meet standards.
