Kiwibank is undergoing a major technological transformation to meet the demands of 24/7 digital banking, and our Cards & Payments team is at the forefront. Join us on a 24 month fixed term contract to build and run modern scalable container-based platforms and CI/CD pipelines in the cloud, enabling teams across Kiwibank to develop cutting-edge, containerized workloads.

We are looking for a talented Senior .Net C# Software Engineer to work across the design and development of enterprise-grade APIs on our brand-new cloud platform. Key skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Minimum 5+ years of recent and hands-on experience with C# and .Net Core development.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying Microservices for cloud-native platforms, at scale. Experience delivering applications to run on containers and orchestrating them using Kubernetes (AWS EKS or similar)
  • Experience in CI/CD practices: Drive and deliver via declarative deployment practices with automated quality and built in security.
  • Strong capability in designing and implementing Microservices architectures, specifically for API development, including breaking down monolithic business processes into de-coupled, re-usable component-based systems.
  • Proven experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, with a demonstrated understanding of iterative development, collaboration, and automation principles.
  • Effective verbal and written skills. Skilled at communicating complex information effectively to a range of different audiences. Effective presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to challenge persuade and influence.
Bonus (not essential but advantageous to have):
  • An understanding of banking and accounting processes and models
  • Understanding Payment Cards Industry regulations, i.e PCI-DSS
  • Experience of contract first design of APIs using formats such as OpenAPI/Swagger/GraphQL for API descriptions and OAuth / zero trust design principals for authentication.
