Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead complex engineering work in a high impact digital environment in Auckland. This 24 month fixed term contract offers opportunities to mentor, coach and provide technical leadership across teams.

You will champion best practices, shape architecture decisions, and deliver secure, scalable software in a collaborative, DevOps-friendly setting. Strong communication and cloud skills are essential, with a focus on outcomes and customer value.

Bring your engineering expertise to the forefront by shaping high quality, secure and maintainable software solutions that support Kiwibank's digital experiences. You'll act as a trusted technical expert within key areas of the codebase, solve complex technical challenges, contribute to architecture decisions, improve development practices and proactively address technical debt. Working in an Agile and DevOps environment, you'll champion CI/CD practices, build scalable cloud based solutions, embed quality, security, observability and traceability into delivery, mentor engineers, provide thoughtful code reviews and help teams work more effectively together. You'll play an important role in delivering reliable, high performing applications while driving continuous improvement across engineering practices.

For this role we're looking for a collaborative, technically strong software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and helping others succeed. We would love to hear from you if you have experience in the following:
