Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a fully remote role with a dynamic e-commerce platform. You will design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud, network, and application layers, working with a globally distributed team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in security engineering, strong scripting, cloud experience (AWS/Azure), and a passion for secure software delivery, incident response, and security automation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in security engineering or a related role, with a focus on cloud and network security.
• Proven expertise in securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Ansible).
• Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Deep understanding of network security, cryptography, IAM, and data protection.
• Experience with SIEM, WAF, IDS/IPS, and EDR solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or CISSP are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Develop and deploy security tools for threat detection, prevention, and automated response.
• Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management across systems and applications.
• Automate security workflows and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure coding practices and infrastructure deployment.
• Define and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Monitor security posture, analyze security events, and generate reports for management.
• Research emerging threats and technologies, recommending and implementing appropriate security enhancements.
• Contribute to the development and testing of incident response and disaster recovery plans.
