Job summary

Clyde School in Central Otago invites applications for an experienced teacher to lead our senior school team and teach Year 8 from the start of 2027. This permanent role includes leadership responsibilities within our school leadership team.

The successful applicant will bring energy, strong curriculum knowledge in literacy and mathematics, and a passion for EOTC and sport, with a collaborative approach that supports student wellbeing and high expectations for all learners.

Qualifications

• NZ teaching registration required.
• Strong curriculum knowledge in literacy and mathematics.
• Energy, initiative and enthusiasm for senior primary teaching.
• Collaborative, reflective, growth-minded practitioner.
• Passion for EOTC and sports is desirable.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Syndicate leader
English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts2 Management Units

We are seeking an experienced teacher to lead our senior school team and teach our Year 8 class from the start of 2027. This permanent position includes 2 management units and a key role on our leadership team.

We are looking for someone who:

• brings energy, initiative and genuine enthusiasm for teaching senior primary students
• has strong curriculum knowledge and exemplary classroom practice with strengths in literacy and mathematics
• builds positive, respectful relationships with students, whānau and colleagues and has high expectations for all learners
• is collaborative, reflective and committed to continually strengthening their practice
• a passion for EOTC and sports, combined with the ability to create meaningful learning opportunities beyond the 4 walls of the classroom, is highly desirable.
