Job summary

Recmatrix Consulting in New Zealand seeks an experienced Senior SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) Technical Consultant to support NZ payroll operations and collaborate with global teams.

This hands-on role focuses on payroll stability, production support, compliance, system performance, data integrity, and platform health within a complex enterprise environment.

You will act as ECP SME, manage transports, ABAP debugging, and work across geographies with ITIL/DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
• Recent experience supporting ECP in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll processing, statutory requirements, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with payroll configuration, troubleshooting, data integrity, transports, and production change management.
• Strong ABAP debugging and development skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll/integration issues.
• Experience working in complex, business-critical payroll environments where accuracy, security, availability, and compliance are essential.
• Good understanding of ITIL, DevOps, SAFe, or Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with global and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the SAP SuccessFactors ECP Technical SME, with strong expertise in New Zealand payroll.
• Provide hands-on production support for SAP SuccessFactors ECP, including configuration, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and operational support.
• Support payroll processing activities, including payroll configuration, data integrity, transports, production changes, and payroll issue resolution.
• Maintain and support production and standby environments, ensuring system stability, security, availability, and accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll and integration issues using ABAP debugging and technical analysis.
• Manage ECP transports, configuration changes, releases, and production deployments in accordance with established controls.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Technology, vendors, and global support teams to resolve issues and maintain payroll continuity.
• Support payroll operations across multiple geographies while maintaining accountability for New Zealand payroll requirements.
• Provide on-call / out-of-hours support during critical payroll finalisation and payroll run periods.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, release, and operational management activities following ITIL / Agile / DevOps practices.
• Contribute to system enhancements, upgrades, testing, continuous improvement, and platform health initiatives.
