Job summary

RWA People is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client on an initial 3-month contract, delivering a key wealth management project in the New Zealand market.

You will own the delivery end-to-end, partnering with business stakeholders, technology teams and external partners to drive outcomes within tight timeframes while maintaining governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement at a senior level.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within financial services, ideally banking, wealth management, investments or insurance.
• Experience delivering projects within wealth management or investment environments.
• Strong track record from planning through delivery.
• Strong governance, reporting and documentation capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, including engagement with senior executives.
• Highly organised and proactive, able to work independently.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client on an initial 3-month contract, delivering a key project within the financial services and wealth management space.

About The Role

You will take ownership of a key wealth management project, working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and external partners to drive delivery.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of financial services, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to quickly establish structure, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery within a financial services and wealth management environment.
• Develop and manage project plans, roadmaps, milestones and deliverables.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across business, operations, risk and technology.
• Prepare and present Steering Committee (SteerCo) packs, project updates and executive reporting.
• Maintain project governance documentation, including RAID logs, meeting minutes, actions and decisions.
• Facilitate workshops, project meetings and stakeholder discussions.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
• Ensure project deliverables are achieved within agreed scope, timelines and business objectives.

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within financial services, ideally banking, wealth management, investments or insurance.
• Previous experience delivering projects within wealth management or investment environments would be highly advantageous.
• Strong track record managing projects from planning through to delivery.
• Comfortable working at both strategic and detailed delivery levels.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives.
• Strong governance, reporting and documentation capabilities.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Available immediately or on short notice.
