Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Auckland to lead day-to-day project engineering and site delivery, supporting the Project Manager to deliver high-quality civil construction works. This hands-on role blends site and office duties, with accountability for safety, quality and on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will oversee field operations, coordinate with the broader contracting team and drive continuous improvement while modeling best practices and leadership on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or similar tertiary qualification)
• 5+ years' experience delivering mid to large-scale roading or civil construction projects
• Strong working knowledge of project management principles, site operations and current civil construction legislation in New Zealand
• Commercial nous, with experience managing risk, cost and productivity to deliver projects to spec, on time and on budget

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams in the successful execution and delivery of civil construction projects
• Oversee day-to-day running of the project site, monitoring progress and resolving issues to keep works on track
• Champion Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards, ensuring pre-starts are completed and risks are managed
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including programmes, correspondence, cost estimates and records
• Schedule works and procure contractor services, providing technical expertise and problem-solving support
• Drive continuous improvement and share safer, smarter ways of working with the team
• Handle technical and commercial aspects of construction projects, coordinating with the Project Manager and contracting team
