Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd in Auckland is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Complex Civils & Structures team. The role focuses on reinforced concrete and heavy civil infrastructure, bridging design, planning and construction.

You will oversee bridges, retaining walls, pipelines and water projects from planning through delivery while mentoring teams on-site. Required: Civil Engineering degree (NZQA Level 7+), 5+ years in structures/heavy civil, and proven programming and budgeting ability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Structures / Heavy Civil projects.
• Portfolio includes reinforced concrete, bridges, treatment plants and pipelines.
• Proven experience in programming and managing budgets.
• Excellent leadership qualities and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the teams and sub-contractors within your area and coordinate with other teams to optimise resources and efficiency.
• Plan the execution of the works and develop construction methodology for all elements of the works.
• Provide a monthly forecast of cost to complete to the commercial manager, and an estimate of the work completed in terms of percentages complete to the planner.
• Provide technical advice and resolve on-site issues as they arise.
• Maintain a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your team.
• Monitor expenses, process invoices, and contribute to financial reporting.
• Undertake regular inspections to ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are achieved across the projects.
