Job summary

Watercare Services Limited in Auckland seeks a Senior Project Engineer based in Warkworth to lead construction supervision and engineering support across complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

You will work with contractors, consultants and operations to ensure safety, quality and delivery, spanning civil, mechanical and electrical works with a focus on tunnelling or underground infrastructure.

Qualifications

Based in Warkworth, this Senior Project Engineer role will see you working at the heart of project delivery, providing construction supervision, engineering expertise and management support across complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working closely with contractors, consultants, project teams and Operations, you’ll help ensure construction is delivered safely to the right quality and in line with project requirements. The role spans civil, mechanical and electrical works and we’re particularly interested in hearing from engineers with tunnelling or underground infrastructure experience.

You’ll be an experienced engineer who enjoys being close to construction and solving real-world engineering challenges. Collaborative and pragmatic, you’ll be comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and delivery.

We’re Looking For

• At least seven years’ experience in construction, infrastructure or water engineering, with tunnelling, underground infrastructure or complex civil construction experience highly regarded.
• Experience or a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical works, ideally within water, wastewater or another complex infrastructure environment.
• Strong construction supervision and project engineering capability, including reviewing construction documentation and providing practical engineering and constructability input.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with a relevant tertiary qualification and a full New Zealand driver licence.
