Job summary
H2R Consulting – Wellington Central, North Island is partnering with a major NZ organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Platform Engineer. You will design, build and maintain secure, scalable platform services, drive automation, and advance CI/CD and GitOps practices across cloud and infrastructure.
In this hands-on role you will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, collaborate with vendors and stakeholders, and contribute to a strong engineering culture while improving tooling,
Qualifications
- Strong background in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps in complex environments.
- Experience with modern automation and container technologies, comfortable in fast-paced engineering.
- Hands-on with OpenShift and modern CI/CD/GitOps tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design and enhance secure, scalable, resilient platform and infrastructure solutions.
- Improve automation across environments and deployment processes.
- Build and support modern CI/CD and GitOps practices.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve software delivery and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident management and service reliability initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to peers.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to deliver platform outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across tooling, processes and performance.
