Kiwibank is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to work in our Digital Workplace Security Services (DWSS) Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) team, within our Enterprise Technology Hub. Role is based in either central Auckland or Wellington.
As a DWSS IGA Senior Engineer at Kiwibank, you’ll play an important role in building, running, and improving the identity governance capabilities that help ensure the right people have the right access at the right time.
You’ll work as part of a talented engineering team, partnering with the Lead Engineer and Product Lead to deliver planned work across IGA platforms and services that are secure, reliable, auditable, and aligned to industry best practice. You will help support engineers across the team, contribute to quality delivery, and take responsibility for detailed implementation and design activities across access lifecycle, identity governance, access reviews, entitlement management, and automation. These platforms are critical to the safety of the bank, supporting strong access controls, governance obligations, and a better experience for our people and partners. This is an opportunity to bring strong technical ownership, deepen your identity governance expertise, and help improve how access is managed across Kiwibank. And yes, it’s a hands-on role with an on-call component. Join us on this exciting journey!
You look for ways to move things forward, even when the path is not straightforward. You take ownership, stay pragmatic, and help the team work through challenges.
You lead through your technical contribution, helping others understand good engineering practice and supporting the team to deliver quality outcomes.
You care about making access simple, secure, and timely for our people, while ensuring governance and control expectations are met.
You look for opportunities to automate repeatable access processes, improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and make IGA services easier to support at scale.
Experience in banking or another highly regulated environment would be valuable, especially where identity governance, access controls, auditability, risk, and compliance are part of day-to-day delivery.
You can explain complex technical topics clearly, adjust your message for different audiences, and keep people aligned.
You have a track record of contributing to meaningful outcomes, from day-to-day improvements through to larger initiatives.
Applications close on Thursday 24th September.
