Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded technology executive to lead Strategy & Architecture. As General Manager, Strategy & Architecture, you will shape long-term digital and technology direction, align roadmaps with business priorities, and report to Exco and the board.

Lead the function that defines the technology north star for Kiwibank. As General Manager, Strategy & Architecture, you will develop and own long term digital and technology strategy, shape future operating models, establish performance frameworks and oversee enterprise architecture across the organisation. You will partner with senior leaders to align people, process and technology roadmaps with business priorities, while providing strategic reporting and advice to Exco and board stakeholders. Leveraging your business acumen, functional and technical skills, capability in managing and measuring work, drive for results, and talent for building effective teams, you will create clarity, accountability and momentum across a complex and evolving environment. You will also bring emerging technology insights into strategic decision making, optimise commercial performance, and lead high performing teams that enable successful delivery of Kiwibank's strategic ambitions.

For this role we're looking for a commercially astute and strategically minded technology executive who can connect people, technology and business outcomes. We would love to hear from you if you have experience in the following:

• Proven executive technology leadership across strategy, architecture and planning, including developing and implementing long-term technology strategies aligned to business objectives.
• Strong business acumen and functional and technical skills across enterprise technology environments, with deep knowledge of architecture frameworks, governance, target-state planning, market trends and how technology creates business value.
• Proven capability in managing and measuring work by setting clear objectives, accountability, OKRs, performance measures and reporting disciplines, and translating high-level concepts into practical roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• A strong drive for results, supported by analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability and a track record of delivering strategic outcomes and organisational impact.
• Proven success in building effective teams, including leading, mentoring and developing high-performing technical teams and leaders while fostering collaboration, ownership, inclusion and shared success.
• Confident communication, relationship management and stakeholder influence across executive, board and complex organisational environments, building alignment and trust.
• Experience assessing emerging technology trends and their application to business strategy, alongside commercial performance optimisation, financial management and vendor partnerships.
