Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Digital Workplace Security Services team. Based in central Auckland or Wellington, you will build and operate secure platforms, mentor engineers, and drive delivery of enterprise security capabilities across the bank's people, data, and technology landscape.

You will lead technical ownership, collaborate with the Lead Engineer and Product Lead, and contribute to design decisions while maintaining an on-call component.

Qualifications

• Experience with identity governance in large or complex environments
• Hands-on design, implementation, and operation of PAM capabilities
• Cloud infrastructure work with Terraform and Git; API integrations to improve platform
• Ability to work in Agile or DevOps environments; collaboration with engineers
• Strong security mindset; work with information security and data governance teams
• Experience sharing knowledge and growing engineering capability
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language
• Experience in agile delivery and contributing to larger initiatives

Kiwibank is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to work in our Digital Workplace Security Services (DWSS) product area, within our Enterprise Technology Hub. Role is based in either central Auckland or Wellington.

As a DWSS Senior Engineer at Kiwibank, you’ll play an important role in building, running, and improving the platforms that help keep our people, data, and technology safe.

You’ll work as part of a talented engineering team, partnering with the Lead Engineer and Product Lead to deliver planned work across enterprise security platforms that are robust, reliable, and aligned to industry best practice. You will help support engineers across the team, contribute to quality delivery, and take responsibility for detailed implementation and design activities. Your platforms will be critical to the safety of the bank, assisting our information security, data governance, and corporate teams. Required Experience

• Good experience across human and machine identity in a large or complex environment, with exposure to cloud and on premises directories, identity governance, and privileged access management
• Hands on experience contributing to the design, implementation, and operation of Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities, including privileged identity governance, least privilege controls, session management, and operational support
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Git, and using APIs to help integrate systems and improve platform capability
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile or DevOps environment, collaborating with other engineers to plan, deliver, and improve team practices
• A strong security mindset, with experience working alongside information security and data governance teams and understanding what matters to them when delivering new or changed platforms
• Comfortable sharing knowledge, supporting other engineers, and contributing to the growth of engineering capability across the team
• Strong experience with at least one programming or scripting language
• Comfortable working in an agile delivery environment, supporting sprint planning and contributing to larger initiatives over time
