Job summary

Fletcher Building in Auckland seeks an experienced Payroll Partner to own end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and on-time payments. You’ll collaborate with time systems, review pay rules, and handle KiwiSaver, deductions and year-end activities.

The role requires 3+ years in a high-volume payroll environment, strong NZ employment law knowledge, and sharp numeracy and communication skills. NZPPA Level 3+ is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and the Holidays Act.
• Experience interpreting Collective and Individual Employment Agreements.
• Solid understanding of payroll controls, tax obligations, KiwiSaver and entitlements.
• Ability to perform off-system payroll calculations and identify discrepancies.
• Experience managing payroll compliance end-to-end.
• Excellent attention to detail, numeracy and problem-solving.
• Clear, professional communication with a customer-focused approach.
• NZPPA certification (Level 3+) would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with time and attendance systems, guiding pay rules and configurations.
• Process allowances, deductions, KiwiSaver contributions and payroll payments.
• Complete payroll reporting, month-end reconciliations and year-end activities.
• Support payroll compliance, monitoring work patterns and employee entitlements.
• Maintain payroll controls, data security and resolve payroll queries promptly.
• Build relationships across Payroll, People & Performance, Finance, Systems and wider business.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive positive change.
