Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island Limited is seeking a Centralised Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. You’ll manage end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of stores, build trusted relationships with store owners and payroll contacts, and deliver accurate, compliant payroll services.

You’ll work with PayGlobal or SAP, handling rosters, payroll records, PAYE, annual audits, and ad hoc store queries, while maintaining deadlines and high accuracy.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience as a payroll administrator or in a similar payroll role.
• Sound knowledge of NZ Holidays Act, employment legislation and payroll practices (PAYE, ACC, parental leave).
• Strong attention to detail, time management and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; capable of working independently and with others.
• Experience with PayGlobal or SAP and payroll system configuration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing accurate and timely end-to-end payroll for assigned stores.
• Managing rosters in PayGlobal and maintaining payroll records, employee changes and leave balances.
• Preparing payroll and PAYE reports, supporting annual audit activity and responding to store queries.
• Applying relevant payroll legislation and escalating complex system or technical matters when appropriate.
• Providing cover across other stores and supporting process improvements, system changes and store ownership transitions.
