Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Kidz First Child Development Team. You will provide specialist clinical expertise and lead a collaborative, multidisciplinary team in Auckland.

The role requires registration with APC, a minimum of 5 years’ paediatric experience, and strong clinical reasoning with mentoring capability. Part-time 0.8 FTE and a commitment to equity are key.

Qualifications

• Registered Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
• Minimum 5 years experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy or related settings.
• Experience in clinical supervision, mentoring, and team leadership.
• High standard of communication with colleagues and whānau.
• Knowledge of best practices, service development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Commitment to equity, innovation, and delivering high-quality healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions for children.
• Work with whānau using a whānau-centered approach to therapy.
• Manage complex cases with advanced clinical reasoning.
• Provide mentorship and clinical leadership within the team.
• Support service development and quality improvement initiatives.
