Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist with a passion for paediatrics to join the Starship Community Occupational Therapy team. This fixed-term, full-time parental leave cover is based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, with most work in the community.

You will provide assessment and therapy to children, engage with whānau, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality care in home and community settings.

Qualifications

• NZ registration as Occupational Therapist with Annual Practising Certificate.
• 2+ years of post-graduate clinical experience.
• Passion for improving outcomes for children.
• Clean New Zealand driver's license.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and use of evidence-informed practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple professional groups in a bicultural environment.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and therapy to children with developmental and disability needs as part of the child development service.
• Conduct visits to see children in their homes, early childhood centres and other community settings.
• Work with Starship Child Health directorate's interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services.
• Participate in weekend and on-call roster as required.
• Engage with communities to remove inequities and barriers to healthcare.
