Job summary

Starship Child Health is seeking a Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau Occupational Therapist to join the paediatric therapy team. This full-time role (40 hours/week) operates across the Starship hospital, primarily on wards with some outpatient clinics, partnering with tamariki, rangatahi and whānau to achieve optimal outcomes.

The team values evidence-based practice, whānau-centred care, and ongoing professional development through supervision and peer review. NZ registration with APC is required.

Qualifications

• NZ registration as Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau Occupational Therapist with current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Experience applying occupational therapy knowledge in a hospital setting.
• Commitment to whānau-centred care and collaborative practice.

About you

• NZ registration as an Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau Occupational Therapist with current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Sound knowledge and skills in applying occupational therapy knowledge, skills and values, as well as the ability to communicate this practice within a hospital setting.
• Innovative and able to communicate with others in complex decision making.
• Motivated to develop own as well as the teams professional practice and able to engage alongside others in the mahi required to achieve this.
• Experience in working in a hospital setting is desirable
• Experience working with children is desirable
• Passion for improving outcomes for tamariki and whanau
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in in interdisciplinary setting
• Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
• Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
