Job summary

Halter is hiring for a high‑impact ML role in Predictive Systems, Auckland. You will own end-to-end ML pipelines, from modelling to deployment, shaping insights for pasture and farm operations. You’ll apply advanced ML to pasture growth, animal state, and intelligent recommendations, partnering with engineering, product and design to deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Deep academic or professional background applying ML to real-world problems.
• Experience designing, deploying, and monitoring ML systems in production.
• Fluency in Python and collaboration on complex codebases.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• Some experience with advanced ML architectures (Transformers/SSM) or agents is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of ML pipelines and modelling systems.
• Conduct research- from technical to agricultural literature reviews.
• Design, dataset construction, training and optimization of models.
• Support production systems and monitor their behavior in the field.
• Proactively contribute innovative ideas within the data discipline.
