Job summary

Rabobank New Zealand Limited is seeking a proactive Senior Risk Manager to join the Country Banking NZ Portfolio Management team. You will partner with senior leaders to embed risk management into daily decisions, lead risk identification and assessments, and strengthen controls across Rabobank NZ.

You will work in a hybrid capacity with three in-office days per week at our Hamilton Head Office, engaging with leaders to foster a practical risk culture and robust risk management practices across

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant risk-related experience (risk, compliance, assurance, incident management, banking operations or related field).
• Experience applying risk and control principles in a business environment.
• Understanding of financial services, other regulated industries and drivers of operational risk.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and influence without formal authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgement, curiosity and willingness to ask constructive questions.
• Proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership and maintain momentum.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in operational risk, workplace health and safety, business continuity would be valuable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to make risk management part of everyday decision-making.
• Lead annual and dynamic risk identification and risk assessments to keep the risk profile relevant.
• Implement Rabobank’s Risk and Control Framework with a focus on operational risk.
• Collaborate across the business to strengthen controls and achieve risk objectives.
• Provide practical risk solutions and support decision makers in risk-aware ways.
