Job summary

Oxygen Advisors is expanding their team with a Senior Management Accountant in Auckland. You will manage client portfolios, prepare monthly management reports, and coach junior staff while driving strategic process improvements within a hybrid work setting.

You will build strong client relationships, communicate financial insights confidently, and lead forecasting for a diverse client base, including high-growth Kiwi businesses.

Qualifications

• Experience in creating monthly management reports with financial commentary.
• Ability to own client relationships and provide clear insights.
• Experience in high-growth businesses preferred.
• Interest in the startup ecosystem and Kiwi businesses.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined portfolio of clients with accurate financial reporting.

• Lead client calls, update forecasts in real-time, and track actions.
• Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting packs across a varied portfolio.
• Update metrics, provide insights, and flag risk areas to the CFO.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Client Ownership

• Manage a defined portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and excellence in financial reporting.
• Build strong client relationships and communicate financial insights with confidence.
• Lead client calls, update forecasts in real-time, and track action items.
• Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting packs across a varied portfolio of clients.
• Update key metrics, provide meaningful insight and commentary, and identify key risk areas to the CFO.
• Support Finance Assistants in reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Look beyond day-to-day operations to identify and solve problems proactively.

Leadership & Coaching

• Mentor and coach junior team members, including Finance Assistants and Management Accountants.
• Develop training materials and share expertise within the team.

Strategic Process Improvement

• Collaborate with the Head of Management Accounting to drive efficiencies in financial processes.
• Lead innovations and improvements to optimize team performance.
• Act autonomously, demonstrating an ownership mindset and taking full accountability for tasks.

• Experience in high-growth businesses (preferred but not required).
